Price for the customer
How it is calculated
- Filament
- model weight × price per kilogram. Use the slicer weight including supports and purge — most slicers already add them.
- Electricity
- print time × average power × price per kWh. Pennies for one printer, but it adds up on a farm and long prints.
- Printer wear
- printer price divided by the hours it should work. This is the money for the next printer and spare parts.
- Failed prints
- a percentage of material, electricity and wear. A detached model or a snapped filament costs money too.
- Labour
- your time around the print: preparation, removal from the plate, support removal, packing. The most forgotten cost.
ProtoSlate 3D calculates this by itself
Grams and time come from your Bambu Lab account, filament prices from your purchases, wear from the printer card. The program shows the cost of every order and warns you when the price is too low.
